Last updated: October 22, 2026

In short: your mountains belong to you. You can export all your data and delete your account from the app, at any time (Settings → Privacy and Settings → Account).

Who is responsible for your data

The data controller is Thomas S. Florus, publisher of Reclaim. For any question about your data: contact@reclaimgoals.app.

This policy applies to the Reclaim app, on every device where it is available, and to this website.

The data Reclaim uses

Profile: your first name, and a profile photo if you choose one.Personalizing the app. The photo is optional; the app only accesses your photo library when you ask it to.

Never the content of your goals, your name or your email address.Finding and fixing bugs. On by default; you can turn them off in Settings → Privacy → “Send crash reports”.

Some information stays on your device and is never sent to us: the tilt of your phone (used to give depth to the landscapes), the data shown by widgets, Apple Watch and Live Activities, and the cards you share, which are created on your phone and sent through the iOS share sheet only to the people you choose.

What Reclaim does not do

  • No advertising, and no data sold or rented.
  • No tracking across apps or websites, no audience measurement tools in the app.
  • Nobody reads your goals or notes: only your account can access them.

Legal bases

  • Performance of the service you use (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR): account, profile, content, settings, sync and the reminders you turned on.
  • Our legitimate interest in running a reliable app (Article 6(1)(f)): crash reports, which you can refuse at any time.

Where your data is stored, and who processes it

Reclaim relies on Firebase, a Google Cloud service acting as a processor: authentication, database, profile photo storage, server functions, notifications (Firebase Cloud Messaging) and crash reports (Crashlytics). The database is hosted in the eur3 Europe multi-region (Belgium and the Netherlands), server functions and files in the europe-west1 region (Belgium).

Depending on how you sign in, Apple (Sign in with Apple, notifications) or Google (Sign in with Google) are also involved, under their own privacy policies.

Some of these services may process data outside the European Union. These transfers are covered by the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses and, where applicable, the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework.

How long

  • Your data is kept as long as your account exists.
  • When you delete your account, your profile, photo, goals, tags and reviews are erased from our servers. See Delete your account.
  • Crash reports are kept for 90 days by Crashlytics, then deleted.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict and port your data, and to object to its processing. Most of these rights can be exercised directly in the app:

  • Access and portability: Settings → Privacy → “Export my data” (a readable logbook per goal and all your data as JSON).
  • Rectification: edit your profile and goals in the app.
  • Erasure: Settings → Account → “Delete my account”.
  • Objection to crash reports: Settings → Privacy.

For any other request, write to us at contact@reclaimgoals.app. We reply within one month. If you believe your rights are not respected, you can lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, the CNIL (cnil.fr), or with the authority of your country.

Security

Communication between the app and our servers is encrypted. Strict access rules ensure that each account can only read and modify its own data.

Children

Reclaim is not intended for children under 15.
